Tours and Programs

FIRE STATION TOUR

The Affton Fire Protection District is proud to serve its residents.  The department is also proud of its fire house and equipment.

The fire fighters enjoy showing tour groups the engine houses where we live and work, and the apparatus stationed at the fire house.  We offer station tours for groups of all ages.

To schedule a tour please call Affton Fire Protection District Headquarters at 314-631-1803 ext. 5.  Please leave your name, phone number, name of group, number of people attending the tour (please specify number and age group of kids and adults).

JUVENILE FIRE SETTER PROGRAM

According to the Burn Institute, Juvenile fire setting is the fastest growing fire threat in the United States.  They estimate more than 300 people are killed, and nearly $300 million dollars in property damage is caused by children setting fires.  Roughly 34% of victims are the children who set the fires.

If you have a juvenile fire setter problem, we have trained fire fighters who handle this matter confidentially.  They can talk with your child about the dangers of setting fires and playing with fire.

Do Not Delay Getting Help For This Problem!

Please call the Affton Fire Protection District at 314-631-1803 ext. 5 to set up an appointment.  Please leave a message with your name and number.  If you need immediate assistance dial 314-631-1803 ext. 3 and talk with the on duty Fire Captain.

COMMUNITY OUT-REACH PROGRAM

Do you have a group looking for someone to talk about being safe in your home, fire safety, fire prevention, basic first aid or what to do in a medical emergency?  The Affton Fire Protection District has a community out-reach program.  Through this program a representative from the district will attend a meeting to discuss and cover topics of the group's choice.

FIRST AID AND CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) CLASS

The Affton Fire Protection District provides to the community Basic First Aid and CPR Classes.  For further information or details, please contact the EMS division at 314-631-1803 ext. 4 and speak with the Medical Lieutenant to set up a class.

SMOKE DETECTOR PROGRAM

The Affton Fire Protection District currently has a smoke detector program.  Members of the district can provide answers to questions on where to install the detector in your house, how often to change the batteries or other question you might have about smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors.

Through this program, Affton Fire Protection District residents, if eligible, may be able to receive a smoke detector or batteries.  In addition, it may be possible to receive assistance from the district on installing them in your house.

For further information please contact the Affton Fire Protection District at 314-631-1803 ext. 3 and speak with the on duty Fire Captain.
